Friday the 13th

I didn't think anything about it until we hit a skunk!!! We had just started our trip of the morning of delivering the  paper!! Honey turned the corner and  "bump" hit the skunk! We had to smell the horrible smell all the way...Yuck! Bummer!  Then we turned another corner and there she was..a most beautiful female dear....she looked at us then turned away like a flight in the night! Traveled a few miles , honey swerved and said" look an opossum"  ...not cats, dogs or foxes. Saw one walker who we see every morning. She has become our nightly treat to see someone who smiles and waves...we give her a free paper sometimes...our treat. So our Friday the 13th has started.

Honey pulled a muscle in his hip about 2 weeks ago and really has trouble walking. The sciatic nerve is giving him so much pain. So when he tried to bring in the inserts for Sunday, he had to stop and lay down...I really feel sorry for him. I have had that pain. If our son, Jeff, lived close he would take care of this problem...

Today is a rest day in between doing the inserts. Yesterday was a good day...we went to Rosies for lunch with Shirley and Wayne . Wayne is doing really well just give him a few more weeks and he will be almost new. God is good to us all. We talked and talked...good for all of us. They came over to the house and that was a nice treat. We don't have many visitors any more. Had alot when we were pastoring. I miss seeing people but then again like our privacy. Honey and  I talked about how when Vann passed away the only visitors we had was Karen our precious neighbor and our District Superintendent....our leader when we pastored...we never failed to visit the loved ones of those who passed away. Guess it doesn't matter any more...

Karen, my neighbor, reminded us of the meteor showers tonight but with the head hanging out the window all night, I did not see  one meteor shower.. and  I  even took my camera to catch the rays ...  I really like to see the wonders of the sky. "The heavens declare the glory of God"  ....Ps 19:1.  I was watching TV news this am and saw them on TV...so they were there by my eyes did not behold their beauty!!!!lol

Thanks for listening grandpa..I love you J

Interesting about no visitors. That is so very sad. I don't understand people anymore, I guess. I used to have 15-20 people over for supper on our backporch about once a month - for years. Since Stu's DX, I can't do that much anymore. And, NO ONE COMES by just for a visit and very few even calls! What is it with people these days??? His golfing buddies don't stop by anymore and if we want to "see" someone, it's us that has to do the seeing! Thank God for cyber buddies - don't know what I'd do without you! May God give you strength and peace in the days ahead. Love you.

Thank the good Lord for you also. I figured that you will see less and less of your "friends" ...probably they feel guilty for not wanting to see what problems you have and so they just don't come around. Sad...so you feel lonely. I am glad that you get go to your support group.
God has been good to us and I should not even complain at all. But guess who is human? lol
Thank you for your friendship. Love you.J
